More Turn To Crime

The chief constable of Salford, Lancashire, Mr James Cotton, in a report today said the increase of crime among women in Britain was an “unmistakable feature of recent statistics.” In Salford alone, he said, before 1960 women were only one-sixteenth of the adult criminals in the city. Now there was one woman to every 11 men.. “Traditionally, the criminal population has been composed mainly of men.
