Second Rank N.Z. Issues Give Lift To Market
Gains by second rank New Zealand issues gave the market a firm tone yesterday, arresting the easing trend of New Zealand shares through the week. However, there were twice as many falls as rises by New Zealand leaders and overseas leaders were steady. Australia and New Zealand Bank continued to firm, rising 9d to 565, and Mt. Isa, in last sales before dividend, recovered 3d to 36s 3d. New Zealand Refining fell further to 30s lOd.
