SEVEN PROPERTIES SOLD
Three houses were sold at public auction yesterday by Mr N. H. McCrostie. An old-type house on a section of one rood 16.5 perches, zoned residential B, at 83 Cranford street, St. Albans, was sold for £3500. A house at 71 Randolph street, Linwood, was sold for £1350. The house has two livingrooms, three bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, and laundry. Outbuildings on the section of 34 perches include a detached room, glasshouse, and coalshed. It was a mortgagee's sale. A furnished cottage at Arthurs Pass was sold for £lOOO. The property was offered on account of the Can-
terbury-Westland branch of the Tuberculosis Association. The opening bid was £BOO. There was one bid of £lOO, one of £5O, and two of £25. Three of four lots of the Pigeon Bay Dairy Factory, Ltd.’s property were sold by Mr D. R. Smith. The factory building and a 39 x 36 foot concrete building, together with 66.5 perches of land were sold for £450. A three-bedroomed house on a section of 25.1 perches brought £l3OO, and a section of 39 perches was sold for £3OO. A two-bedroomed house on a section of 33.5 perches was ipassed in at £l2OO. Offered on account of Annie Margaret Ness, a bungalow at 596 Worcester street, Linwood, was passed in at £2lOO when it did not reach the reserve of £2200. The auctioneer was Mr E. G. Keenan. The house, on a section of 23.6 perches, has three bedrooms, two living-rooms, kitchenette, bathroom and laundry. A brick bungalow at 67 Mahars road has been sold by private treaty by N. H. McCrostie and Company. The property was passed in at £4BOO when offered at auction on Wednesday.
