R. B. Simpson on Thursday became only the third captain in test cricket history to score two centuries in one match when he made 153 and 115 for Australia against Pakistan. D. G. Bradman, for Australia against India in 1947-48, and A. Melville (South Africa), against England in 1947, are the only two other captains to achieve this honour.
