Manslaughter Charge

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 21. Depositions of evidence on a charge of manslaughter against John Donald Kilmlster, aged 25, a shearer, were given today by Trevor Ronald Nicholson, a farmer, of Makara, before Mt R. D. Jamieson, S.M. Kilmister is charged with the manslaughter of Basil Joyce on September 12 last. Nicholson said a “sort of melee” developed between three men and Kilmister outside a house in Wellington. One of the three attacking Kilmister was Joyce. “I saw Joyce fall backwards. He hit his head on the road with a terrific impact,” Nicholson said. The case will continue tomorrow.
