U.K. MEAT OUTPUT

More Mutton, Less Beef (Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, October 21. Production of beef and veal in Britain during the first eight months of this year was more than 28,000 tons lower than in the same period of 1963 at 576,000 tons of beef and 7200 of veal, says the Commonwealth Economic Committee. The decline was mainly caused by the reduction in the number of animals available for slaughter for the Continent. Output during August was 69,200 tons. Pork output was 19.000 tons higher, at 359,300 tons, and mutton and lamb was up by 14,000 tons to 142,300.
