Crippled Children Society

Representatives of the Canterbury and West Coast branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society and its sub-branches conferred in Christchurch on Saturday. Members were present from the Hokitika, Greymouth, and Reefton subbranches, and from the Ashburton regional committee. It was decided that, as Ashburton now had about 50 children on its books and had a part-time field officer, consideration should be given to forming a sub-branch there. The branch representatives agreed to a request by the four West Coast sub-branches (the three represented, and Westport) for a field officer from Christchurch to visit the West Coast twice a year instead of annually.
