Competition Results

One hundred and forty competitors, mainly girls, performed some polished Highland dancing in the Canterbury Caledonian Society’s annual competitions which began on Saturday. All are members of the society. There are 450 entries in the various events and this is considered to be nearly a record. The judges are: dancing, Mrs R. O'Brien; singing, Mrs N. Hamilton; best-dressed dancer, Mrs R. Tie; piping, Mr K. J. Boyce: recitation, Mrs L. Tucker: and drumming, Mr J. Dingwall. The competitions will continue tomorrow and Wednesday.
