Break Through In Form For Today

Break Through went close to causing a surprise when he ran second to the promising Cleome at Ashburton last Saturday. If he trots as well today, he should win the Wairewa Handicap, a race for maiden trotters at the Banks Peninsula Trotting Club’s annual meeting at Motukarara.

Notulas, which has had a second and a fourth from two starts this season, might offer most opposition to Break Through. She seldom trots a bad race and is overdue for a win. However, she might find Break Through too speedy. Spring Greetings trotted a useful race to finish sixth at Ashburton when having her first start as a trotter. She will have to show very little improvement on last week’s effort to be a place prospect.

Rosina and Norma's Light appeal most of the others on the front while Alvean and Ipiana could do best of those behind the limit. The double wil be run on the Banks Peninsula Trotting Club Handicap and the Paparua Handicap, Dominica and Cloudage forming a likely combination.
