The University Is now building as one project two halls of residence each of which will accommodate about 250 students. The halls will share common facilities but they will each have a warden and. a governing body and will be regarded as individual halls. They will provide accommodation mainly for undergraduate students but accommodation will be available for postgraduate students and for staff members. Each of the halls will accommodate men and women students and the University will consider applications from men and women for the wardens’ posts The salary for a person who is appointed primarily as a warden wil be £A3400 x £AIOO- - p.a. The salary for a person who is appointed primarily to undertake teaching and research with additional responsibilities as a warden will be determined In accordance with experience and qualifications, and an alowance will be paid to take account of those added responsibilities. There will be in any case an enter tainment allowance of £A2OO p.a. A warden may be expected to participate in the teaching and research work of the University. The University will appoint a hall manager to relieve the warden of responsibility for much domestic detail.
