SMITHFIELD MARKET
Some Lamb Easier (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 9. There was a moderate inquiry for good supplies of most commodities on Smithfield Market, Loudon, last week, according to the Meat Board market information service. There were increased offerings of home-killed lamb. The price of the main grade of New Zealand lamb (prime 29-361 b) fell by Is 2d per lb and light-weights by Is 4d per lb. There was a slow inquiry for light pitchings of New Zealand mutton at reduced quotations. The main grade of hoggets (49-561 b was at 17d per lb, wethers (49-561 b 15d to 16d per lb, and ewes (49-561 b 15id per lb. Small quantities of New Zealand G.A.Q. frozen ox hinds sold at 29d to 29jd per lb, and fores at 20d to 21d per lb. Quotations for New Zealand lamb:—
