FOUR YOUNG FARMERS
Tours In U.S. And Britain (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 9. Four young farmers were selected today to spend six months overseas next year. They were Kevin Kelly (Eastern Southland), and Terrence Peacock (Central Hawke’s Bay), who will go to Britain next February, and Winston Marshall (Mid-Can-terbury) and Donald Nicholls (Waitemata), who will leave for the United States in April. The tours are sponsored by the Meat, Wool and Dairy Boards and the Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs. While overseas the members will live in a number of farm homes for periods of from two to four weeks to study local farming and to get to know the host countries and people.
Reciprocal exchange farmers from Britain and the United States are at present on a similar tour of New Zealand.
Mr T. S. Lodge, director of research and statistical adviser to the Home Office, will visit New Zealand this month to advise the Justice Department on research and statistical matters.—(P.A.)
