Back From Trip

ZN.Z. Press Association) AUCKLGAND, Oct 4. Miss Nicola Hearn, the Hastings Blossom Queen, arrived back in New Zealand today after spending two weeks in Australia as part of her prize. The 19-year-old hairdresser said that although casual clothes in Australia were first class the same could not be said for formal wear. “I expected the average girl in Sydney to be very well dressed, but they did not appear to be as smart as New Zealand girls,” she said. While in Australia, Miss Hearn was entertained by the Lions Club and was an official guest at the “Miss Gold Coast” contest at Surfers’ Paradise.
