ACOUSTIC TILES
With the advent of high fidelity sound reproduction and television, the provision of a sound absorbent ceiling in the living areas at least, of modern homes, is fast growing in popularity. The need for effective sound control so that music, and the spoken word, may be more fully appreciated is self-evident. Fibrous plaster acoustic tiles add enormously to this appreciation by absorbing reverberations and echoes and improving the tonal properties of the areas where they are installed.
In addition to this the sound absorbent . material used as a filling in the . tiles acts as a thermal insulation helping to keep out summer heat and to retain winter warmth. If, to the advantages of sound control and thermal insulation, one adds the excellent appearance and resistance to. fire of fibrous plaster acoustic tiles it is apparent that whilst the initial cost may be higher, the installation of these tiles can be regarded as an investment in greater “livability” and increased comfort in the home.
