Child Started Tractor
(N.Z. Press Association) WAIROA, October 4. A three-year-old boy, who started a tractor, was crushed to death by the machine when it ran into a bank on a farm near Wairoa. He was: James Douglas Mihaere, son of Mr and Mrs Morris Mihaere, of Ruakotuari Valley. Mr Mihaere had left the tractor outside his home while he, had lunch. The child climbed on to the machine, turned on the ignition key, and moved the gear lever. The tractor moved forward into the bank and the child was crushed by one of the rear wheels.
