Life Member

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 4.

The Governor-General (Sir Bernard Fergusson) has accepted life membership of the Petone Workingmen’s Club—which was established in 1887 and has had several of Sir Bernard Fergusson’s predecessors on its rolls. The life membership card was presented to his Excellency on behalf of the club by the member of Parliament for Petone, Mr M. Moohan. After accepting his card, Sir Bernard Fergusson, said*. “I can’t pretend I would rather be in my office than here. It is a great privilege to be a member of the club and I will try to live as long as I can as a lifemember.'’
