Governor Dead

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright; LONDON, Oct, 4. The war-time Governor of Malta, LieutenantGeneral Sir William Dobbie, died last night at his home in south-west London, aged 85. He was the man who signed the order which brought hostilities to a close on the British sector of the Western Front on November 11, 1918. He was knighted for inspiring leaders 'p of the George Cross Island, Malta, during his Governorship from 1940-1942.
