BOYS’ BRIGADE
Annual Service In Cathedral The Canterbury Battalion of the Boys* Brigade held its annual church parade at Christchurch Cathedral yesterday afternon. About 300 Boys* Brigade members took pari: in the special service and the preceding parade, in which the Ist Christchurch Company officially handed over the colours of the Canterbury Battalion to the 23rd Christchurch Company to guard for the next year. The parade was under the command of Mr W. T. Garlick, and Mr L. Teague was the adjutant. The Cathedral service was conducted by the chaplain of the University of Canterbury (the Rev. D. Wilson). After the service the salute was taken by the Canterbury Battalion’s patron (the Mayor,. Mr G. Manning). The parade coincided with the eighty-first anniversary of the Boys’ Brigade movement.
