Amazons Tuck In

(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) TOKYO, Oct. 2 The New Zealand girl athletes’ appetites are the delight of the Japanese chefs in the Tokyo Olympic village, but the girls are finding they have to keep careful check on their weights. The food is much on New Zealand lines with plenty of steak and pork and after hard days of training, the girls are doing justice to it. The pint-sized Japanese cooks clearly expect such tall Amazons to eat well and they pile on the food. So that the New Zealanders can keep a check on their weights, the team manager, Mr W. A. Stevenson bought scales for his headquarters and there is now a weight parade for the whole team every day.
