Drainage Board Engineer
Nine engineers have applied for the position of chief engineer of the Christchurch Drainage Board. An appointment to the position was made recently after Mr H. F. Page had resigned, but the Tasmanian engineer appointed later declined the position. It was then advertised again in New Zealand and Australia.
The appointments committee of the board will meet today to consider the applications, but the chairman (Mr R. C- Neville) said that it would only sift the applications and that the final appointment would be a matter for the new board which would come into office after the election next Saturday.
