Brothers In Game
The Thacker Shield Rugby League match between Hornby and Marist (West Coast) had a good share of brothers involved.
The Hibbs family of Paroa (Greymouth) had the largest representation with three brothers, Cliff, John and Ron, playing. The Marist pack also included the Dennehy brothers, Tony and Gerald.
Hornby had R. A. and D. Neiman in its team and the front row contained G. Woodgate and R. Woodgate. The usual centres, J. M. and R. T. Bray, did not take the field together as R. T. Bray was unavailable through injury.
