TROTTING Snow Globe And Ahumai Selected At Hutt Park

Snow Globe and Ahumai might form the winning doubles combination on the first night of the Wellington Trotting Club’s September meeting at Hutt Park Raceway tomorrow. Snow Globe will meet spirited opposition in the first leg, the Ordeal Free-for-all, while Ahumai will not have things her own way in the second leg, the Wallaceville Handicap.

Snow Globe was badly beaten at Addington last Saturday when she tired to eighth in the race won by Robert Medoro. However, she had to work very hard to obtain a clear advantage after the first two furlongs and this probably contributed to her lack of dash when challenged at the furlong.

Snow Globe is a noted front-runner and if she is allowed to make her own rules tomorrow, she should run most of her rivals off their feet over 10 furlongs.

Flying Maiden has raced most consistently, recording three seconds from four starts. Her ability to maintain a handy position should ensure that she is prominent all the way. She was a close and in some ways rather unlucky second to Robert Medoro last week at Addington, a placing which entitles her to serious consideration. Pohutukawa was a costly failure in his two starts at the recent Auckland meeting. He is too good to discard yet and must be considered in spite of -his lack of recent form. Ali Bey and Control also

made mistakes in the free-for-all at Auckland last week. Both could be harder to beat this time, especially -Control, which has fashioned an outstanding record on the Hutt Park track.

Wairau King, a winner at Auckland last week, and White World appeal most of the others.

Ahuinai was an unlucky third to Garcon d’Or and Highland Step at Addington on September 5 at her most recent start. She will have to show very little improvement to gain an overdue win in the Wallaceville Handicap. Spencer was second to the brilliant Adioway at Auckland ' last week, a placing which ensures him solid support. He has a big reputation.

Spring Garrison, Victura, Miriam Hall, and Pancho Boy are others with sound recent

efforts to their credit. Any one of the four could upset calculations. Fine weather is forecast and the track is expected to be fast. 8.30 p.m.— ORDEAL TROTTING FREE-FOR-ALL, £1260; 2:13 class trotters; lim. 3817 All Bey (8) .. It.
