NEW POSTAL RATES
Id Increase For Letters
New inland postage rates to apply as from October 1 have been given in a schedule supplied by the Chief Postmaster (Mr J. W. Lincoln). Surface letter rates have increased by Id to 4d for the first ounce, and the airmail letter rates have increased by Id to 5d for the first half-ounce. The late fee is increased from 2d to 3d in addition to postage. Increases of Id to Id apply to packets, printed matter, business reply envelopes, and newspapers and magazines.
Other rates have also been increased.
