TROOPS ARRIVE
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) SINGAPORE, Sept 10. British Navy authorities kept a tight wrap of secrecy around the movement of the anti-aircraft regiment that arrived in Singapore today from Germany.
Military information officers said they could only divulge that the men belonged to the 22nd Light Defence Regiment and that the mission was defensive in nature.
An English Army officer at the Changi Airfield hinted the meu would be stationed in southern Malaya, not far from Singapore. An official said the troops would man radar-guided 40 millimetre anti-aircraft guns.
