Competition Results The Canterbury branch of the Royal Life-saving Society has announced the results of its 1963-64 excellence competition. The first three schools in each contest were: Walter Johnson Memorial Shield (primary and intermediate schools).—Hororata girls, 0.571 points a head, 1; Reefton girls, 0.363, 2; Hororata boys, 0.343, 3. Collins Cup (secondary schools with a roll of 150 and under 300).—Craighead, 4 76, 1: Waimate High School girls, 2.29, 2; Christchurch Technical College girls, 1.30, 3. Rosebowl (secondary schools with a roll of less than 150). — Methven District High School girls, 1.37, 1; Reefton District High School girls, 0.990. 2: Reefton District High School boys, 0.202, 3. Sir Henry Wlgram Memorial Cup (secondary schools with a roll of 300 and under 500). F.angi-ruru Girls’ Schools, 2.53, 1; Riccarton High School boys, 1.02. 2; Christchurch West High School boys, 0.882, 3. M. E. Lyons Memorial Trophy (resuscitation certificates).— Riccarton High School boys, 0.531, 1: Riccarton High School girls, 0.399, 2; Waimate High School girls, 0,331. 3. Wigram Cup (swimming and surf clubs).—South Brighton Surf Life saving Club. 1.82, 1: Christchurch Ladles' Amateur Swimming and Life-saving Club, 1.10. 2; Taylor's Mistake Surf Life saving Club, 0.539, 3. Peterson Cup (secondary schools with a roll of more than 500).—Christchurch Girls’ High School, 1.54, 1: Avonside Girls’ High School. 0.978, 2; Tlmaru Girls’ High School, 0.913, 3.
The results of the Sir John Hall and Monica Thacker shield competitions, for teams of five from boys’ and girls' schools respectively were:— Sir John Hall Shield.—Christchurch West High School, 374.5 goints, 1; Christchurch Boys’ igh School, 337.5, 2; Rangiora High School, 334.75, 3. Monica Thacker Shield.— Avonside Girls’ High School, and Cashmere High School, 361.25, equal 1; Christchurch Technical College. 356.25. 3.
