Watersider Killed

(N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE, Sept. 7. A Gisborne watersider was killei’ early this afternoon when he fell 27 feet into the hold of the freighter Scottish Star. He was: Rodney Campbell Smith, aged 46. married, with five children, of 678 Childers road. Mr Smith, the gang’s hatch man, was making adjustments to one of the ropes near the edge of the hold when he lost his balance and fell.
