Ice Hockey 17 GOALS IN MATCH
Wolves Beat Rangers
Wolves won the last ice hockey match of the season when they beat Rangers, 9-8, at the Indoor Ice Rink last night. The scoring was the highest of the year. The game started slowly, and play was very scrappy, with Wolves making most of the attacks. In spite of this. Rangers led 2-0 at the end of the period. Wolves quickly scored four goals in the second period, and in the final period goals came thick and fast. Both teams still had plenty of life, and made some spectacular attacks, opposing players being spreadeagled all over the ice.
Both goal-keepers were hard pressed for minutes at a time, and often had to come well out from their nets to stop solo breakaways. The scorers for Rangers were B. Adamson (2), R. Atkinson (2), R. Cooper, J. Hanning, M. Cotter and D. Fisher, and for Wolves B. O’Connor (4), P. Wright (2). S. Walters, P. Willman and B. Guy. The referees were Messrs G. Bainton and C. Robinson. The teams were:— ! Rangers.—L. Smith (goal), R- Dutton, B. Adamson, R. Guy, J. Dougherty, J. Hanning, R. Cooper (captain), D. Fisher, M. Cotter, A. McDonald, R. Atkinson, J. Armstrong. Wolves.—A. Smith (goal), J.
