BURWOOD CONCERT
A concert put on by the girls from the Girls’ Training Centre, at Burwood, was held on Saturday evening to raise money to renovate the centre’s hut at Glen Tui. The programme included a spring scene with singing and dancing, Maori songs, hakas and poi dances, a cabaret scene, a ballet, and a play. Mr H. Farler, at the piano accompanied all the acts. Mrs P. Edmonds arranged the spring scene. The girls were trained for the ballet by Miss R. Pedder and Mrs S. Thompson trained the tap dancers. The play, entitled “Ballethoo,” was directed by Mrs K. Ford. The concert will be held again tonight.
