Step Nearer To Seventh Badminton Singles Title

PALMERSTON NORTH, Sept. 2. New Zealand’s top women's singles badminton player. Mrs H. Robson (Auckland) went a step nearer today to creating a record for the national badminton championships. She will meet the fourth seed Miss G. Slmpsoh (Auckland), In the singles semi-final later this week. Mrs Robson’s record target is seven singles titles and seven doubles titles. At last year's championships she won her sixth New Zealand singles title.

Mrs Robson romped through her third-round match, beating Miss B. Stott (Hawke's Bay), 11-3, 11-4. In a quarter-final, she met a fellow Auckland player, Miss A. Butterworth, and won, 11-8, 11-6.

The third seed, Miss M. Moorhead (Wellington), will meet the second seed, Mrs V. Gow (Auckland), in the other women's singles semi-final. Results:—
