134 CITIES CONSIDERED
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 1. The Wellington City Council has received from the overseas consultants, Messrs de Leuw Gather, reports of 134 American cities which had instituted one-way street systems to reduce accidents and speed up traffic, the town planning committee chairman (Cr. W. G. Morrison) said today. “The statistics from these cities confirm what we are doing in Wellington,” he said. Only nine of the 134 cities had reversed, or partly reversed, their decisions on oneway street systems.
