ORDER BOOK PAYMENT
War Pensions War pensions and war veterans’ allowances will be paid by order books from September 3, said the Registrar of War Pensions (Mr E. B. Pyne). This brings them into line with social security benefit payments. The orders may be cashed at any money order office or war pensions office in New Zealand. Those affected by the change have been notified and order books are ready to be collected from the usual offices. War pensions have been changed from a New Zealandwide series of numbers to a district series. War pensioners should take the notice showing their new numbers, and their pension certificates along to the paying office when they call to collect their order books. War veterans retain their numbers and need only take their certificates.
The first issue of order books will contain a varying number of orders, depending on the renewal date of each certificate. There is a maximum of 13 orders, to each book. Any pensioner, who because of a change of address, did not receive a new number, is asked to call at his war pensions office.
