COMMERCIAL N.Z. Shares Stronger; Overseas Lose Ground
New Zealand shares moved into a stronger position in yesterday’s trading, but the market for overseas issues showed a decline. Some good moves were made in the New Zealand list.
Southland Frozen Meat, at 295, and South Otago Freezing, at 41s, both reached new peaks for the year, Guthrie Bowron and Mannings each gained Is, while Seabrook Fbwlds moved up Is 9d. Innes Industries were in demand in Auckland, rising 2s 6d to 42s in active trading. Only A.N.Z. Bank and Clyde Industries advanced in the overseas list.
