Fire Damages Caravan

A caravan on a section at 37 Aversham crescent, Spreydon, was severely damaged by fire about 7.55 p.m. yesterday. The fire also damaged an old unregistered car on the section. The owner of the property is Mr A. F. C. Rushton.. Two units from the Sydenham fire station attended the call. Earlier last evening there were two chimney fires, both of which did no damage. The first was at 51 Mary street, Papanui, at 5.39 p.m.. This was extinguished by a unit from St. Albans. The second occurred at 7.10 p.m. at the home of Mrs D. Kingenstein. 210 Antigua street. A unit from the Central station attended. At 7.23 p.m. a unit from St Albans was called tb an oven fire in premises at 16 St Albans street occupied by Miss A. Reed.. There was no damage.
