Rail And Postage Rates
Sir,—l am afraid that this Government has hit just once too often—too toughly. Not in all cases can these costs be passed on or taken off when buying. In 1966, election year, we will remember —with a vengeance.—Yours, EX-NATIONAL SMALL BUSINESSMAN August 25, 1964.
uir,—l would like to tell Mr Bryce that the concessions on fares, clothes, etc., which are a charge on the running expenses of both concerns have to be paid for. Outside workers get their wages and have to pay full fates; etc. Postage rates and rail charges are both classified as revenue and have to be accounted for whether National or Labour is in power. One cannot have one’s cake and eat it—Yours, etc., BY THE WAYSIDE. August 22, 1964.
