N.Z. Polo Wins
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) CLIFTON (Queensland), Aug. 23. The New Zealand polo team led by A. Kay (Kihikiho) recorded two easy victories in the Darling Downs Polo Association carnival at the week-end. The Clifton tournament was the second of a series of five week-end tournaments the New Zealanders are playing in Queensland.
Kay’s team yesterday swept to an easy 5-1 victory in "dust bowl” conditions against a downs "blue” team. B. Braughton scored three goals for New Zealand and Kay scored two.
Today, In the final match of the carnival, the New Zealand team took an early command over a downs "white” team and won by 5 goals to 2. The New Zealanders, A. Kay and B. Kay, Braughton and J. Watson, settled down easily on the Australian ponies and were not worried by occasional falls of rain.
Braughton again scored three goals while A. Kay and B. Kay scored one each.
The touring team will now visit Goondiwindi where they will play three matches on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week.
