Fall Of 5 p.c. To £284,546 . (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, Aug. 21. Consolidated net profit of James Stedman Ltd., confectionery maker, eased £14,675 to £284,546 for the year to June 30. Dividend is raised from 134 to 15 per cent including a final 74 per cent and requires £159,208 (up £18,575). In the previous year, dividend had been raised from 124 per cent to 13} per cent after a profit rise. Earning Rate Earning rate eases from 27.3 to 25.9 per cent on ordinary capital after deducting £lO,OOO preference charge. Directors said turn-over for the year was higher. In Australia, selling prices remained stable as increased costs were absorbed, but selling prices had to be raised in New Zealand after a sharp increase in the sugar price, directors said. The profit is after tax £206,204 (up £644) and depreciation £56,900 (down £3412).
