Top Girl Guide Officer To Visit N.Z.

LONDON, August 19 Miss Anstice Gibbs, Chief Commissioner of the Commonwealth, will arrive in Auckland by air from Fiji on August 29, for the start of a New Zealand tour which will bring her into close association with the Girl Guide mot ement Miss Gibbs acts as a link with the guide associations in independent countries of the Commonwealth, and durint her tour of New Zealand Australia. Fiji, Singapore Malaya, Pakistan, and India she will confer with coun oils and executive committees She will be especially inter ested in such matters as the part guiding can play in the life of each nation and methods of increasing mutua' aid amongst the guide associations of the Commonwealth. Miss Gibbs’s programme includes rallies of brownies, guides, and members of the senior branch; conferences and talks with adult leaders of the movement, and meetings with local supporters:: State receptions, meetings
■with local authorities, and representatives of educational and social services, and television appearances. Miss Gibbs will leave We!- , iington for Sydney by air on: September 24. She will be: in Christchurch on September! 9 and 10, and again from I September 18 to 21.
