£688 Stolen By Woman
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug. 24. Thefts totalling £68819s 4d, committed by a 35-year-old housewife, had proved an acute financial embarrassment to her f ormer employer, Mr R. M. Grant, S.M., was told today. Louise Frances Bryant pleaded guilty to three charges of theft from the Northland Electrical Company, Ltd. She was convicted and remanded till August 31 for a probation officer’s report and sentence.
Senior Sergeant B. Davies said Bryant had been employed by the firm. She had been making payments on a new home. The firm, which was a small one, had suffered acute financial embarrassment because of the thefts.
