VISIT TO KOREA
Invitation Refused (N. Z. P.A.-Reuter—-Copyright) MANILA, Aug. 24. President Diosdado Macapagal, of the Philippines, said last night he could not make a State visit to South Korea at present because of the “local situation.” The President was commenting on reports that the South Korean Government had informed the Philippines that Mr Macapagal could now make a visit which was previously postponed. The President did not explain what he meant by “local situation.” It was understood that he meant he was busy with the country's economic and political problems.
