NOTIFIABLE DISEASES
Two Men Die Of Tuberculosis Three cases of infective hepatitis, two of industrial dermatitis, one of pemphigus neonatorum, and one of pulmonary tuberculosis were notified in the Christchurch health district last week. There were two deaths from tuberculosis.
Two of the hepatitis cases were in patients in a male ward at the Templeton Hospital and Training School. The outbreak of hepatitis at the hospital has been confined to the ward and is now nearly over. The third hepatitis victim was a woman in Christchurch.
The two tuberculosis patients who died were elderly men in the tuberculosis annex of the Coronation Hospital. The patient newly notified with the disease is an elderly woman in Malvern county. One of the industrial dermatitis cases was a woman in Christchurch, the other a man in Waimairi county. The pemphigus sufferer was a male infant in a metropolitan hospital.
