WELLINGTON, Aug. 6.

Airborne by strong winds, a sheet of cement boxing hit a car in Thorndon, Wellington, today, smashed one of its windows and then hit Mr J. Wells, an overseer, on the head. He was taken to Wellington Hospital suffering from lacerations to the scalp and shock.

A 10-year-old schoolgirl, Diane Smither, of Island Bay, was blown off her bicycle in Happy Valley road.

She was admitted to Wellington Hospital with a fractured skull and lacerations to her forehead and left leg. Her condition tonight was fair.
