S. Korea Press Restriction

(N.ZP.A.-Reuter—Copyright)

SEOUL, August 5. Three leading South Korean reporters’ organisations yesterday issued statements expressing support for their editors who yesterday said they would boycott the Press Ethics Bin passed by the National Assembly on Sunday night to restrict press activities. The National Assembly press corps consisting of reporters of 18 dailies, news agencies and radios said that they would also go on a oneday strike at midnight tonight in protest. Two other reporters’ groups which expressed support of editors were press corps covering courts and the Presidential residence.

Another press corps covering the central Government said it would follow suit by issuing a statement later.
