Te Pirita C.W.I. 30th Birthday

The Te Pirita Country Women’s Institute celebrated its thirtieth anniversary recently. Six members of the federation executive attended, president, Mrs L. M. Kellaway; vice-presidents,' Mesdames A. J. Knight and R. W. McKechnie; secretary, Mrs G. E. Maclachlan; treasurer, Mrs W. A. Hodgkinson; and Mrs E. J. Melhuish, and members of neighbouring institutes and W.D.F.F.

Miss Carol Fahey entertained with two ballet dances, and two sketches were presented by Mesdames J. G. Scott, W. G. Collier, M. Fahey, and M. J. Adamson.

Mrs Kellaway presented the vear’s trophies as follows: Most points cup, Mrs Collier: Marion Inch Cup for floral art, Mrs Adamson; cooking prize, Mrs Collier; and handcraft, Mrs Adamson. The 30 candles on the cake were lit by Mrs Kellaway. Mrs George Inch, a foundation member of the institute, cut the cake.
