Air Pollution

Sir, —Christchurch has more than once been linked with Los Angeles as a location of smog. If athlete’s lungs can be affected by a short period at Los Angeles, what about years of exposure for Christchurch citizens? These conditions sooner or later take toll of the lung structure and fill the hospitals with sufferers from bronchitis and lung ailments. Central city dwellers cannot see clearly across city streets most of the winter.—Yours, etc, DENSITY MEASUREMENTS. August 4, 1964.
