CASS BAY WANTED

Moorings For Yachts

If small craft had to be moved from the inner harbour at Lyttelton, members of the Banks Peninsula Cruising Club would prefer to have their craft moored at Cass Bay rather than Purau. This attitude was reported to the Lyttelton Harbour Board yesterday by the works committee which met a deputation from the club recently. Discussion was deferred pending the receipt of firm proposals from the club for the provision of moorings at Cass Bay. Mr L. G. Amos, chairman of the small craft committee, asked if the works committee was taking over its functions, and said that if that was so it was a vote of no confidence. The small craft committee had no responsibility to do anything on the inner harbour, said the chairman (Mr A. A. Macfarlane). It was a policy matter which should be dealt with by the board.
