Allergic To Horses

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LA JOLLA (California) July 20.

Mrs Willie Shoemaker, wife of the famed jockey, learned today that a series of tests at the Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation has confirmed her suspicions—she is allergic to horses, United Press International reported. Mrs Shoemaker says she hopes the clinic can produce a drug to counter the allergy. So does Shoemaker. When he gets home from the track, she says, he has to remove his clothes in another part of the house and take a shower before greeting his wife.

Staying Amateur. The New Zealand and Empire Games welter-weight boxing champion, Wally Coe, will not turn professional. “I am not interested," he said today. He failed to win selection in the Olympic Games team.—(P.A.)
