S.P.A.N.Z. FLIGHTS

New Timetable Approval (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 21. The Air Services Licensing Authority has approved an extended timetable for South Pacific Airlines of New Zealand and it will come into effect on August 9. The services will then be daily, except Wednesday and Saturday, from Auckland down the west coast to Christchurch and return, Auckland via Rotorua and Masterton to Christchurch and return, and Christchurch to Invercargill and return. The authority also approved the discontinuance of services linking Waikato, Rotorua, Whakatane, and Napier. Whakatane will be linked by a taxi service with Rotorua airfield.

The general manager of S.P.A.N.Z., Captain R. D. Darnell, said the change had been made because of a constant demand for better frequencies than a three a week. The company had curtailed uneconomic routes so it could improve its main obligations.
