. A third underground explosion in Siberia in 18 weeks was registered by the Uppsala Seismological Institute yesterday, the Associated Press reported. The first took place on March 15. the second on May 16. The institute said it could not tell whether they were nuclear underground blasts or “ordinary chemical explosions.” All the explosions have taken place in the Semipalatinsk area in Siberia. 1
