Nurses’ Exams.
Sir, —There has been comment on the high percentage of failures at the ■ recent nurses’ State examinations. One of the questions asked was: What steps would you take to eliminate tractor accidents? Surely such a question would apply more to such organisation as the Department of Agriculture, Federated Farmers, Y.F.C., etc. As these organisations have been unable to eliminate tractor accidents, it would be a hard task for a nurse in a hospital to do so. Many different answers could be given, for as long as there are tractors, there will always be accidents. Unless the person marking the papers, was a qualified tractor driver, it would be difficult to allocate points. Will our future nurses have to study such aspects as aerial topdressing, mustering, shearing, mechanics, etc?—Yours, etc A FELLOW TRACTOR ’ _ , „ DRIVER, I July 20, 1964. I
