Bridge Protest
The City Council’s proposal to put a traffic bridge over the Avon river at the Antigua boatsheds and to demolish the footbridge there has met with a protest. A meeting of “responsible citizens of Christchurch” had expressed strong disapproval, said a letter to the council. It was agreed that the works committee should receive a deputation from those protesting.
